A Amazing Prom Story Of Semi Responsible Fun
Every girl has a dream in high school. It may not be to be the captain of the cheerleading squad, or vice president of the student body, however it does include Senior Prom. Plenty of thought and ambition goes into this one evening. The one night that everybody will remember. No matter if you stand as a wallflower or tear up the floor, every girl would like a Prom that will not end horribly. That is at least what I had always assumed.
Young and virtuous, I could pull off any appearance. Pink eye shadow with long locks of brown curls or dark hazy eyes with chestnut hair pulled tight in a complex bun. Decisions. Decisions. With a sparkling beaded dress that swished across the floor, I was ready. Pretty, pretty Princess. This was my night. Hearing the chattering downstairs of picture time, I took my cue and commenced my night. In a high school were the graduating class was approximately 300 people, and that is being generous, everyone was out to impress. I, on the other hand, knew I was Miss Graceful.
Arriving in style with the highest style was a stipulated and who better than a Ft. Myers Limo to ensure I was the belle of the ball. I only had one true girlfriend, and she was my partner in crime. Who requires my uninteresting date, I knew she'd have a party up her sleeve. I just didn't know precisely what it might be. The common chatter goes in one ear and out the other, all along thinking where was she? But I knew Miss Brittany would come bail me out of this uninteresting conversation. There she is, I see her coming thru security. When on Earth did our school get security? Never mind, the fun was going to unfold.
She pushes her way near the center of the floor, cussing, yelling, and pulling her date around like he was nothing. My goodness, she does look a bit uncomfortable in her yellow clothes. She waves me over to the corner, I slyly tell my date that I must use the restroom, and I am going meet her across the excessively packed cafeteria. When I reach her she gives me the 'what for' because I didn't opt to drive there on my own. Grumbling, she reaches under her dress and out comes the cans of silly string. And then the grins returned. We gave a toast to friendship, and set off to mix it up.
Starting our heels which landed on tables, we had precisely what young women our age want from prom...Great fun! It was our small secret, while it lasted. Before long, everybody was joining in the excitement. Yes, officers yelled when we became a bit bad, though that did not discourage us in any way. We were a force to be reckoned with that night. Our make-up that we spent hours perfecting melted off with the heat. Our hair hung lifeless with all the sweat. That is when we made our call to leave this prom and find fun some place else.
